EWA, Education Workers and Amalgamated Union Osaka, is a trade union for all education workers, teachers and staff from kindergarten to university, both full-time and part-time, public and private, regardless of nationality. It is based in Osaka but workers in other areas have also joined.

Foreign teachers are having troubles at the present time such as dismissals, loss of classes and decreasing payment at many Japanese colleges and universities. The EWA is focusing on improving their working conditions and supporting the fight against unfair treatment by employers.
